*Back to school

there is always a rush to finish things before the year comes to an end, for me, my "rush" to compplete certain things will be the pictures which MT and I took in the first year of our relationship. i hope that i will be able to scrap them as the year comes to an end.

MT and I met each other at work so we know nothing about our indvidual school life. Plus, i went to sydney when i was 17 so i knew nothing or had never been to a local university before. So, MT and i made the trip to NTU to take a tour and look at his hostel. As for me, i bought him to my secondary school - an all girl's school. When MT walked into the campus, he had a shock of his life because he was the only male in the whole campus. [my school tend to hired all female teachers].

I am still waiting for the chance to go to sydney with MT so that we can then visit my uni and show him around my campus.

2010 calendar

I had bought my calendar for 2010, have you ? this year, i had decided that instead of the cute japanese calendar or MUJI's simple calendar, i am going for something that is handmade.

this picture had bought me over. the thing is now i need to think about how do i make it stand on my desk.

*bookworm couple

the common past time which we shared will be reading, hence i decided to create this layout. Most of the time, when we hang out, it is the two of us. so, it is hard to find a picture with the both of us in the same picture. it is always the one of us taking another's picture. in this case, i decided to create a series of layouts which features the both of us.

this is the position MT is always in when either he is waiting for the mrt to come, waiting for me or when he is sick of gaming.

*our common past time will be reading a good book. book shopping is the only type of shopping which you enjoy.

*documenting our relationship

From my point of view,in a relationship,it is important that each couple has a little ritual shared between the both of them.

For MT and I, our little ritual between the both of us will be taking a neo - print on a monthly basis: for the first year of our relationship. I had added on some rub-ons on the pages itself and sometimes, even my thoughts.

these were my thoughts and sometimes, we were unable to go to those shopping malls that has the neo -prints machine so i improvised.

the picture of MT having his ice-cream was the first picture i had taken with my DSLR.

this book also contains pictures of our first anniversary together, first valentineday together and other moments.

*2 weddings & 2 birthdays in a week

last week was one of the busiest week i ever had. I had to attended two weddings, one dinner and another was a full day event. Also, for the second wedding, i had made a red packet box for the wedding couple. shall post the pictures up when i received the pictures.

in between the two weddings, it was my cousin jun's birthday. I did not have enough time to prepare her present - it will be delayed this year.

these are the tag books which i made for my friends, myself and MT. It is a mini tag book for the year of 2010, one tag for a month and you can choose to write down one story a month. just for keepsake and an reminder of what is 2010.

this is the first tag book i made. it was a birthday present for xinni, one happy gal who works with me. after seeing my scrapbook stuff, she never fails to ask me "when are you going to make a book for me?". With this question in mind, she received the first tag book i never made. I cant wait to see the end product - where she had completed the book next dec.

this tag book is for jun. she needed something small for her to keep so the size of the tag book is ideal for her. i think next year will be a huge year for her. this shall be her xmas present so that she will be able to write her stories and yes, she almost always ask when how come i dont scrap anything for her. So, this is perfect.
this is for myself, noticed that i had not made any scrapbook for myself so i decided that me, myself in 2010 will also write down a story every month, completed with a picture.
the "us" referrs to me and MT. the same principle applys but this time round, it will be MT to do the writing in this book while i will do the picture taking.
other than the weddings and the birthdays, i had been spending my other spare time reading this book. MT and I bought this book on a whim and it turned out to be so good that i cannot put it down. The fact that both MT and I are in the service industry makes the book even a better read because I bear the exact same thoughts when i deal with my nasty customers.

*scrapbook makes a good present.

This layout was created for MT's Dad. there is this really old picture of MT and his Dad hanging in his bedroom and i wanted to scrap that picture. However, as the picture was too old that it was struck onto the photoframe.

I had already bought all the papers for the layout so i decided to use the photos from Chinese New Year. it is a tradition in MT's family that on the first day of CNY, both MT and his sister are required to say their greetings(wishes) to their parents with mandarins. Basically, this layout is about ther family traditions.

As for me, this is the first time i tried my hands on such colours and style. I can still remember that i took months before i finally start with the layout. anyway, i am glad that i had managed to pull it together. And scrapbooking should be capturing the moment rather than how nice or wonderfull your layout is.
